Pineapple Sage, Salvia elegans, is one of the last hummingbird plants to bloom in autumn. It is a major attractant for late migrant Ruby-throated Hummingbirds--and for other uncommon vagrant hummers that wander in from the western U.S. and Mexico.
If you have a sharp photo of this hummingbird flower you would like to contribute for this page, please send it to PROJECTS with info about when and where the photo was taken, the photographer's name, and any anecdotal info about the plant. |
